Today we discovered the first eco house & café in Hua Hin / Kao Takieb! And as far as we can tell the only one. A lovely young Thai couple run this sweet guest house and café a few steps off the main street not far from where we stay in Hua Hin area three hours south of Bangkok.
This couple, Indy and Node, speak excellent English as they have lived in Australia for several years. Four years ago they created this little oasis of calm, beauty and great food.
First the smell of fresh brewed coffee and then the aroma of a chicken panini and an omelette stuffed with tasty eggplant and Thai basil. Yumm yumm! With background saxaphone music and the shade of mangrove trees and flowering bushes, what a lovely lunch experience.
The vegetables are organically grown by them behind the house and the eggs and fruits are delivered from an organic farm. What a treat to get organic food served in a restaurant in Hua Hin! I had two strong Americanos and we both devoured the perfectly ripe mango, pineapple and bright watermelon for desert.
Later Indie and Node gave us a tour of their guests rooms. Each room had a theme of color and style, bright and friendly with all the amenities for the guest. Some of the rooms had lovely terraces filled with plants making a shady place to sit and relax.
To add to the atmosphere were two sweet toy boxer dogs, curious and friendly.
We left the café refreshed and thrilled to have found such a gem in our neighborhood. We will spread the word and wish the best of luck to Indie and Node for their courageous pioneer spirit in the Land of Smiles.
SEA Harmony (web site) is the only ECO house in Hua Hin, perhaps in Thailand, that has no waste water drained to the sea & utilities solar and nature resources wisely.
